Why are some people better athletes and accomplish more in sport than others? Have you ever wondered what makes them better? Why do some people achieve their goals while others fail? Today I want to explain how to step up in high pressure situations, but also perform at your best. How can we describe this ability in just one sentence? Mental toughness is when you can find fuel in an empty tank.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">The mental training for athletes starts from working on the sport attitude. It&#8217;s one of the important things which has influence on the effective action. The main reason is to create some beliefs attached with sport. How can we define the mental toughness? It is a measure of individual resilience and also confidence. It is the ability to consistently perform at your best in any situation. It may predict success in sport, education and the workplace. A strong personality is something more than a casual strong. The true strong do not come from physical abilities, but from steadfast willing. People with a mental toughness do not understand the capitulation; they can fall down seven times and get up eight. That makes them stronger. They can always learn a lesson from every defeat. They accept the failure, but still they looking into the future with a hope as well. Nobody born with a mental toughness, it is an effect of thoughts and attitudes. Mental toughness is not given. You can develop this superpower when you strongly want it:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family:Calibri, Calibri, sans-serif;\">Decide what mental toughness means for you. For instance it could be: workout four times a week, eat healthy, do meditation every morning, etc. You need to transfer the theory into practice.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family:Calibri, Calibri, sans-serif;\">Practice a lot! Mental toughness is like the muscle. Push yourself to many small steps like more reps during workout.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family:Calibri, Calibri, sans-serif;\">The key for the strong mental toughness are habits. Motivation is not enough. Motivation comes and goes the point is to build daily habits.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">When we talk about mental toughness we should remember about few components of it: ability of self confidence and improve self-awareness, become resilience, ability of control between calm and positiveness, face with challenges without fearness and involvement and remember about tough thinking!<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Firstly, the basic thing is <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>be aware of your strengths and weakness<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">. It could help you improve your self confidence. When you find that situation is difficult that knowledge will be playing for you. People who are self confidence achieve more and self-awareness shows you how to deal with hard situations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Another important skill is <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>resilience<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">. Stay focus on the present and every time when you make a mistake come back to game quickly and even more stronger. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">Last but not least is <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"><b>tough thinking<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">. It&#8217;s a big thing you should remember and practice a lot! If you want to build strong mental toughness you need to have a tough thinking. What does it mean? Train your self-talking and be more conscious with choosing what thoughts you use. Stay positive with your thoughts and keep control what you think about. When you recognize negative or unhelpful thinking use techniques to stop or change them. Don&#8217;t keep that place empty and try to create positive thoughts instead of it. It could be difficult but then it will be just a habit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-US\">What does characterize mentally tough people? They are more consistent than others; they have clear goals. Mentally though athletes do not miss a workout. It is very important to have a clear goal and work on it every day. The vision is more important than other distractions. Short-term profits and negative feedback never shade the true direction. What is the most fantastic thing in being mentally tough? When things get difficult for other people, mentally tough people find something easier to work on. Moreover, when things get tough for them, those people find a way to stay on schedule as well. Mental toughness is one of the most important attributes that could lead athletes to a successful performance.
