It is a behavioral addiction like gambling, shopping, sexual (hypersexuality), computer \/ video game playing or Internet addiction. What are the main symptoms of sport addiction? Primarily loss of control over behavior. Although sport brings us a lot of benefits, it is also possible to be addicted to sport. However sport is a healthy activity and socially desirable. It can also bring negative effects for addicted people. Everything is good in balance, but there are areas where we could lose control. Neither shopping nor computer games are harmful when we keep the balance. The same thing is with sport \u2013 excess could be destructive.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">During working out hormones are secreted in the brain like: dopamine, serotonin and endorphines \u2013 happiness hormones. Therefore athletes feel blissfully and pleasantly. When they work out. It is also possible to be addicted to adrenalin which are secreted during doing extreme sport. So how does the addiction mechanism work? People easily remember positive states of ecstasy and they have a tendency to repeat behaviors that cause these feelings.<\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">The phenomenon of addiction is difficult to diagnose. We can distinguish a few most important symptoms when you should be worried if they appear in your behavior:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Loss of control<\/b> \u2013 it is a strong need to do something. The loss of impulse control is when you continue exercises when you are ill and against medical advice. Sometimes overtraining also could be the sign of losing control.<\/li>\n<li><b>Withdrawal symptoms<\/b> \u2013 if someone who\u2019s addicted to physical exercise is prevented from training, that person will experience withdrawal symptoms like irritability, bad mood, increased anxiety, problems with sleeping and increased arousal of sexuality.<\/li>\n<li><b>Social and\/or proffessional sacrifices<\/b> \u2013 neglect of family and proffesion duties. These could appear as conflicts with family or with employers.
